I tried reading Bonfire of the Vanities but I just couldn't get into it because Wolfe's interest in social class, physical markers of social class, and manifold unlikable characters were just not my thing. I think he should have stuck with nonfiction, personally. I'll check out the one you recommend!
As for the AI disclaimer, that's the language the Author's Guild is now recommending all members use on their online work and I was happy to borrow it. It's good to remind people where LLMs come from, even though I have no realistic hope it will actually stop the scrapers.
